“However, the choreography of Sinja Ožbolt’s idea also suggests an immense power of the bodies that are able to resist and organize themselves - not only on stage.” - Nenad Jelesijević, Radio Študent

“The flow of the new performance by Sinja Ožbolt Wellfare to the Nation announces her new choreographic effusion, new physical sharpness where dance tissue swirls across the stage like rough sea, kneaded human dark sides. However it gives thought that somewhere there is still a beam that reflects optimism and enlightens the group as an organized and focused choreographic structure.” - Daliborka Podboj, Dance Parade

Projection of Remembering the Others and public discusion "How much past do we need for the future?" at Modul Memorije 2017, International Theatre Festival MESS

27/4/2017 at 7 pm
Kino Meeting Point, Sarajevo, BiH

As part of the 22nd MESS Memory Module, on Thursday, 27 April 2017 at 19:00 h at Kino Meeting Point, Sarajevo (Hamdije Kreševljakovića 13), forumZFD (Forum Civil Peace Service) in partnership with MESS and Network for Peace Building, organize screening of the documentary film "Remembering the Others" (46'00") with an open discussion on "How much past do we need for the future?" with Ana Čigon (artist and director), Nejra Nuna Čengić (researcher with PhD in Anthropology) and Nihad Kreševljaković (historian and director of MESS).

Simultaneous translation will be available in English, and/or Bosnian / Croatian / Serbian language.

Remembering the Others, 2015, 46'00”

The documentary "Remembering the Others" by Ana Čigon (Slovenia) gives the word to students, artists, theorists and activists who speak about the meaning and power of public monuments in Kosovo (and elsewhere). Which people have the privilege to be represented in monuments? Why there are almost no monuments dedicated to women in Kosovo? Which other people (marginalized groups) and stories are excluded in such monuments? The film states that if the (hi)stories of marginalized groups are hushed, and the (hi)stories that have visibility are not questioned, the result will always be a misleading sense of normality. A status quo that creates a platform that gives certain groups the push to the top positions and other groups the push to oblivion, all accompanied by a deceptive sense of fairness and normality. The film epilogue opens way to ideas about what kind of monuments people want for the future.

Videos One More Kick and Finger in U.S. in video selection DIVA Station Presents III

4/4/2017 at 8 pm
Slovenian Cinematheque, Ljubljana

DIVA predstavlja III Finger in US

Synoptic video program, entitled DIVA Station Presents III, was curated by Barbara Borčić, program advisor at SCCA-Ljubljana, head of video programs and video archive DIVA Station. Selection presents 17 video works which are divided into three parts: From analog to digital, From memory to fiction and From impression to digression. The program offers viewers a thematic entry into diversified materials held by our video and new media archive DIVA Station. From analog to digital presents works that each in its own way deals with television as an institution or the mass media, exploring its space, frequency and aesthetics. From memory to fiction with a selection of works deals and plays with memory, both collective and personal, and looking narratives that run on the border between reality and fiction. From the impression to digression consists of video works, based on an impression, which quickly turns into digresion. From the cityscape and highway walls, to the body and the urban sound, control and Photonic sound.

Two of my videos are part of this selection: One More Kick (From analog to digital) and Finger inU.S. (From impression to digression).
